These Sitcoms Are Makin' Me THIRSTY!
Lots of sitcom news coming in recently! Here’s a quick catch-me-up:
- Happy Endings returns to ABC tonight after Modern Family. It’s the best returning sophomore comedy on TV, so make sure to check it out (if you missed the first season and want some background, check out my original review HERE). Additionally, Suburgatory premieres tonight, also on ABC - the name aside, it’s...

Check out the first promo for the new Showtime series House of Lies, starring Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell (courtesy of HitFix). Here’s what the Showtime website says about the show:
A scathing, Corporate America-skewering comedy about a self-loathing management consultant (Academy Award® nominee Don Cheadle) from a top tier firm who is never above using any means (or anyone) necessary...

Emmys 2011 - Predictions
The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards are this Sunday. Hosted by Jane Lynch and airing on Fox at 8:00pm EST, it is the biggest night in television. So, obviously, I must test my TV knowledge and share my input as to who I think will be called to the stage. I will be making two distinctions for each award, who should win - the choice I would make if I were voting - and who will win - my choice as to...

This past Sunday was a day for closure on HBO. Entourage aired its series finale while both True Blood and Curb Your Enthusiasm completed their seasons. One was great, one was OK, one was everything I thought it would be…horrible. Care to guess which is which?
SPOILER ALERT - do not read on if you haven’t seen these finales.

HBO Orders Sorkin Show to Series
Aaron Sorkin, most recently the Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Social Network and also attached to the upcoming Moneyball, is officially going back to TV. The show, working under the tentative title More As the Story Develops, has been in the works at HBO for some time now - HBO ordered the pilot a few months ago and have now pulled the trigger on a series order consisting of 10 episodes.

The Phenomenon of the Self-Imposed Series Finale
Endings can be very bittersweet. But in TV, with me at least, it’s pretty much one way or the other, bitter or sweet, with very few exceptions.
Too often I get the bitter portion - a show that I love to death gets taken from me much too soon due to a lack of ratings. Sports Night, The Black Donnelly’s, Party Down, Studio 60, Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, Better Off Ted and of...

Deebs on "Friday Night Lights" on The Graham...
I watch a lot of TV. In a calendar year I probably follow about 40-50 shows. Mostly scripted, but also a generous portion of reality - mostly quality-fare, but I have my guilty pleasures, too. But of all these shows, year in and year out for the past five years, there has been one stand out that has held the title of my favorite show and will continue to hold that top-spot for the ...

During the game, Adam reveals that he has had a three-year crush on Jenn. Wait, wasn’t Jenn...

We start precisely where we left off last episode, with Eric having just drained Claudine, Sookie’s faerie-godmother. Eric falls to the ground, and we think maybe he’s sick or something…is there such a thing as an overdose for vampires? But after just a second he’s back up...

The whole gang heads to the beach and has a grand old time. Apparently, they get locked in their Villa between challenges and aren’t allowed off the premises. My Emmy Nominations Wish List
The nominations for the 63rd Primetime Emmys will be announced tomorrow morning. We all know to expect a lot of the usual suspects - your 30 Rock’s and Mad Men’s, et al. True Blood - Season 4, Episode 3: “If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin’?” RECAP after the jump!
Eric is still confused, standing on the side of the road, staring blankly at Sookie, just smelling her. “You smell like wheat, and honey…and sunlight.” His fangs drop, he inches closer, but Sookie has her wits about her and speeds off. Then, amazingly, those wits get...

TNT orders "Dallas" to series
Who shot J.R.?
Even if you don’t know the answer to that question, there’s a damn good chance you know the reference. Or at least an homage to the reference - like the “Who Shot Mr. Burns?” episode of The Simpsons. I am of course talking about the 1980’s smash hit, Dallas. The show originally ran on CBS and followed the Ewing family, rich cattle and oil tycoons...

The Challenge: Rivals - Episode 3 RECAP after the jump.
It’s party time, surprise surprise! Also, this just in - nobody likes CT…except Mandi. Wes does NOT approve. Meanwhile, Mike-Mike dresses up like Tyler in a thong-speedo, sunglasses and yellow tee. I find it hilarious, and so does Paula. Looks like Paula might have a little crush on Mike. The gang gets a message from TJ...

True Blood - Season 4, Episode 2 “You Smell Like Dinner” RECAP after the jump.
First, real quick - my apologies for the delay. It’s vacation time which means a lot of celebrating the 4th and traveling to my home town (CNY, stand up!) - which also means a bit of a lag in my recaps this week. But you don’t mind, just this one time, right? OK, good.

"The Challenge: Rivals" Episode 2 RECAP
The Challenge: Rivals - Episode 2 RECAP after the jump. This week’s installment starts with some good old-fashioned party time. Everyone is getting sloppy when Evan, Kenny, Wes and Johnny - heretofore referred to as Team Meat Head - think it’s a great idea to move a giant stone swan into Mandi’s bed. It takes all four of them to move it, Mandi gets a nice little surprise and...
Check out this look into the upcoming 4th season of Breaking Bad.
Interviews from the cast plus some short teaser-clips all promise this to be the most intense season yet. Are they serious? More intense than the last season?? My God, I couldn’t be more excited. This is the best show in AMC in my opinion, and yes, I am including Mad Men. There’s a reason Bryan Cranston has won...

"True Blood" S4, Ep 1 Recap
True Blood - Season 4, Episode 1: “She’s Not There”
We start precisely where we left off - with Sookie in the land of the faeries. Everything is all happy and super attractive, and there is lumiere fruit that tastes like pure happiness all over the place. Sounds sorta wonderful! Claudine, Sookie’s faerie-godmother is showing her the ropes, encouraging her to get...
"Jersey Shore" to (Maybe?) Recast After 5th Season
Earlier this morning, US Weekly reported that the Jersey Shore cast will get a cast change-up after season 5, which will shoot this summer again in Seaside after the gang returns from Italy. The reason for bringing in newbies is primarily a financial one, as it is reported that the cast is receiving $100,000 per episode. To add to that, the current cast members are getting more and more...

"The Challenge: Rivals" Episode 1 Recap
The new season of MTV’s The Challenge premiered last night. Based on just this one episode, I am willing to bet that this will be a tumultuous season for sure. Taking place in Costa Rica and appropriately titled Rivals this time around, each team consists of two players who have proven to despise each other in either on past seasons of The Real World or The Challenges. Even after the...

A Tale of Two Finales
Wow, guys. A lot of stuff happened on Sunday. Some of it I’m really excited about, some I wish I had never wasted my time with. I also apologize for the extra wait time between when these shows aired and my reaction. I was pretty heated the last few days and had to take some time to cool off and rationally construct this post. So, here we go - tackling the finales of Game of Thrones...

Checking in on "The Killing"
Before I start, an apology is in order. I have been absent from the blog recently and for that I am sorry. I won’t bore you with the reasons why, but it won’t happen again. I promise.
